ABOUT NEW PROFESSIONALS INSTITUTE (NPI)

New Professionals Institute is the preeminent professional development opportunity for new student affairs professionals in the south. Anyone with five years or fewer of full-time experience in Student Affairs is eligible to apply. Co-sponsored by NASPA Region III and SACSA, NPI is an intensive, interactive week of learning, sharing, networking and professional and personal development. This unique opportunity allows new professionals to draw on their first years of experience to improve their effectiveness and to learn from others. It is a time of professional and personal renewal and assists new professionals in the development of their careers.

ROLE OF FACULTY

The 2018 New Professionals Institute is currently seeking senior student affairs professionals from NASPA Region III and SACSA to serve as the faculty mentors for institute participants. Each faculty member will lead a cluster of 10-12 participants through the institute and serve as their mentor, facilitate small group discussions, and lead a presentation on a specific topic during the institute.

COST OF NPI

The Institute will cover transportation and travel expenses and all faculty will stay on the UNC Charlotte University campus. Faculty must be able to commit to the entirety of the institute.

NPI FACULTY APPLICATIONS

Individuals who wish to be considered for the 2018 New Professionals Institute faculty must submit:

  • A current resume reflecting name, current position, and institution (with contact information)
  • A brief statement of interest (no more than 500 words)

Anyone selected to be a faculty member must be willing to arrive on campus by Friday, June 1, 2018 by 5 p.m.

Please send all questions and application materials to Dr. Chris Holland, NPI Director, at cholland@fscj.edu by February 16, 2018.
