Dear SACSA Member,

I hope you all have had a great start to the fall semester. It is hard to believe that we are almost less than a month from our annual conference in Greenville, South Carolina. "Make it Happen, Make it Matter” is the conference theme and embraces so much of our Association’s history and trajectory! The SACSA Foundation continues to be committed to the ideology of "Members Helping Members” and forging enthusiastically with the "Drive to 65K” campaign. While we have a few more contributions to solicit, we have made gigantic steps toward enhancing opportunities for our members and supporting the Association. As we approach the second year of this significant task, we would like to continue to ask for your support for this very critical effort.

In 2014, the Foundation Board with the support of the SACSA Executive Council, committed to focusing significant attention on the ways in which the Foundation could engage in a fundraising endeavor that could create an endowment to support the Association as well as offer more support for existing professional development programs such as the Research Grant Program and the Dissertation of the Year Award. Drs. Ellen Neufeldt and Joe Buck took a major step in pledging two major gifts totaling $13,500 to kick off the campaign. This was a significant step in the Foundation’s history and the energy has continued since the unveiling of the campaign in Louisville, Kentucky. The SACSA membership has responded profoundly to Dr. Neufeldt’s and Dr. Buck’s commitment to the Association, and the pledges and donations have pouring in. To date, SACSA members have pledged or donated $58,242 in pledges and collected $29,263 of the pledges. To date, SACSA Members have enabled the Foundation to meet more than 89% of the $65K goal!

As we approach our 2015 annual conference in Greenville, South Carolina, I strongly encourage you to contribute toward your pledge or make a pledge TODAY! We are 11% away from making the $65K in both pledges and donations. A continued and renewed focus on building a strong financial base can ONLY be realized with your support. Our conference theme is "Make it Happen, Make it Matter”! Without your willingness to support this endeavor to establish a strong endowment and advance signature programs, we would not be able to make it happen, so that it matters for our members and students!

Please be sure to stop by the SACSA Foundation table between November 1st and November 2nd to learn more about the campaign, ensure you have your contribution ribbon signifying that you have contributed and engage with members of the board. We want to hear about your interests and ideas to be considered in the future.

Again, thank you so much for all your support. Let’s keep those thermometers rising! It’s SACSA Time!
