SACSA members have access to a variety of events and professional development opportunities to facilitate their growth within the fields of Student Affairs and Higher Education.
Each year, SACSA chooses a city in a Southeastern state to host its annual conference in conjunction with NASPA Region III.
2018 Annual Conference
This year, SACSA has partnered with the South Carolina College Personnel Association (SCCPA) and NASPA Region III to host its annual conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We encourage you to learn more about the 2018 Annual Conference and meet us at the beach!
Using the Career Center, SACSA members are able to post job openings, find potential candidates, search openings, and subscribe to new posting notifications.
Communities of Engagement
One of SACSA’s newest initiative – Communities of Engagement – aligns with the mission of SACSA to provide opportunities for understanding of issues impacting students and the student affairs profession, while fostering our core values of inclusiveness, professionalism, and collegiality.
SACSA partners with NASPA Region III to offer two different professional institutes.
The Mid-Manager's Institute (MMI) is a very focused and unique professional development experience presented in partnership with SACSA and NASPA Region III. It offers an opportunity for mid-level professionals to enhance and develop the skills, relationships, and dispositions that distinguish them in the profession and enables them to make more meaningful contributions to the people and programs they serve.
New Professionals Institute
The New Professionals Institute (NPI) is the preeminent professional development opportunity for new student affairs professionals in the south (we consider ‘new professionals’ anyone with five years or fewer of full-time experience in Student Affairs). Co-sponsored by NASPA Region III and SACSA, NPI is an intensive, interactive week of learning, sharing, networking and professional and personal development.
SACSA offers a webinar series the first Tuesday of each month AT 1:00 PM EST for its members! These webinars are free to attend and last for 60 minutes. SACSA encourages all of its members to consider submitting a proposal to present a webinar. Webinars can be presented by one or more graduate students or student affairs professionals.
