SACSA members have access to a variety of events and professional development opportunities to facilitate their growth within the fields of Student Affairs and Higher Education.
Each year, SACSA chooses a city in a Southeastern state to host its annual conference in conjunction with NASPA Region III.
2019 Annual Conference
This year, SACSA has partnered with NASPA Region III to host its annual conference in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 2-4. We encourage you to learn more about the 2019 Annual Conference and let's Rise Higher by Connecting Theory, Practice, and Purpose.
Using the Career Center, SACSA members are able to post job openings, find potential candidates, search openings, and subscribe to new posting notifications.
As we plan to keep Rising Higher in Raleigh, we are glad you have come to the SACSA Career Center to help you rise to the next level of your career!
We know you have many options to find that career-next that is meant for you, but did you know that SACSA has been one of the leading sources institutions have looked to in order to ensure a well-prepared, student affairs career professional? Our partners, and friends in the field, want YOU to help their educational institution remain current, vibrant and competitive…and we are here to make sure you see what these institutions are offering.
SACSA partners with NASPA Region III to offer two different professional institutes.
The Mid-Manager's Institute (MMI) is a very focused and unique professional development experience presented in partnership with SACSA and NASPA Region III. It offers an opportunity for mid-level professionals to enhance and develop the skills, relationships, and dispositions that distinguish them in the profession and enables them to make more meaningful contributions to the people and programs they serve.
New Professionals Institute
The New Professionals Institute (NPI) is the preeminent professional development opportunity for new student affairs professionals in the south (we consider ‘new professionals’ anyone with five years or fewer of full-time experience in Student Affairs). Co-sponsored by NASPA Region III and SACSA, NPI is an intensive, interactive week of learning, sharing, networking and professional and personal development.
Research Grants & Dissertation of the Year
The purposes of the SACSA Research & Assessment Committee are to encourage research in the college student affairs field; to provide current research and reports to the membership in a timely manner; and to coordinate the selection and awarding of the SACSA Research Incentive Grant and the Dissertation of the Year Award. Both awards are presented at the annual conference awards and recognition luncheon.
SACSA offers a webinar series the first Tuesday of each month AT 1:00 PM EST for its members! These webinars are free to attend and last for 60 minutes. SACSA encourages all of its members to consider submitting a proposal to present a webinar. Webinars can be presented by one or more graduate students or student affairs professionals.
